NOW HIRING – TRUCK DRIVER / LABORER

Town of Jay Public Works Department

The Town of Jay is looking for a motivated, hardworking individual to join our Public Works team as a Truck Driver/Laborer. This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits and the chance to be part of a dedicated crew that keeps our community moving.

Schedule & Benefits

• Starting pay $24.76
• Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM (Some overtime required)
• Full benefits package (Medical, Retirement, Vacation/Holidays, etc.)
• Regular plow route through the winter

What You’ll Do – Every day brings something new! Duties include but are not limited to:

• Operating light and heavy trucks & equipment
• Road maintenance, patching, brush trimming & mowing
• Snow & ice removal in winter
• Attendant at the Transfer Station
• Transporting and processing materials
• And other hands-on projects that keep our town running smoothly

What We’re Looking For

• Class B CDL & clean driving record required (Class A preferred, or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in all types of weather
• Team player with good communication skills & public interaction ability
• Willingness to be on call during winter storms
• Must live within 15 miles of Jay Public Works Garage

Experience helpful – but we’ll train the right candidate!

Other Requirements

• Pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol testing (ongoing as required)
• Strong work ethic and reliability
